"Nascar can make 860 hp with a 6 just sayin" Very true, but this is with a HVC (black) box and coil, not the regular (red) 6AL box and coil. When we underwent the change (upsell) to the HVC box in Cup, my MSD rep told me it provided better spark at high rpms (we were running engines then at 9400+ down the longer straights on the 1 1/2 mile tand up tracks) than the red box. If you run under these circumstances, the free upgrade might be worth it. The HVC box easily supports well over 900 hp in our LSR carrunning in high gear at 8200 to 9200 rpm for three miles. The red box will probably do as well, but maybe not for such prolonged time at high rpm. vic
Silly Crusty, don't you know that a Mega Squirt with IGN1A coils is better than anything MSD can ever put out, it'll even run a Top Fuel Dragster!!!!........ Don't believe me, just ask DieselGeek, he assures me it is the ultimate in performance ignitions.......
O.K., so now I'm looking for pros/cons on mounting in the passenger vs. engine compartment. I'm envisioning a simple mount that will handle the MSD6 and coil on the firewall. Suggestions?
I'm also looking for suggestions on a relay box/panel to hold starter, horn, fan, & headlight relays. I'd like to keep the bulk of the factory wiring harness in pace, since it's in good shape.
Thanks again.
"First I believe if you keep the RPM's high enough, ANYTHING is possible." PeeWee

One of us has installed and tuned hundreds of ignition systems. The other one doesn't have a running hot rod. And I can assure you, if krusty had that option, just like NASCAR today he'd choose to run individual coils.
Stop trying so hard, you're not convincing anyone anything other than you are a troll and don't know very much about cars bro ;-)
