    Trailer/parachute hitch

Looking for other people's experiences, the receiver comes out behind the license plate. Do we drive with the plate folded down when pulling trailer or do we punch a hole thru the top of the plate? Has anyone had issues with either

My receiver was just above the plate so while it didn't tilt down, you could see it either from behind or next to the car with the trailer attached. My trailer has a plate so that must be okay. Never been pulled over.

I have a hole punched through the center of the tag, does double duty as a removable parachute mount and the trailer ball, I have never been stopped, but it doesn't mean it is legal.

looking for ideas on this too. I have an idea on what I'm going to "try" but if I see/read something better I have no problem with going with what works.

I have a drop down plate for the hitch/chute mount also. I ran for 3 years with just leaving the plate folded, but the last few years I built a small bracket located under the bumper on the driver side. No light on it, but if they want to pull me over for that, will probably get a boatload of tickets!

We were stopped because of someone else doing a burnout in the park for one of the DW 13 photo stops . After we stopped for gas, We were then quietly escorted to the county line.

Doc, back in the day when you used to go to Dragweek, things were a lot different....and the cops have plenty of reasons to pull you over even if you did everything legal, like when your equipment is sprawled all over the highway when your leave your trailer open as you drive down the street....
