  • Help from the chassis "Gods"

    Wondering what I can do to make my 53 quicker/faster.
    Quickest so far is
    1.80 60'
    5.10 330'
    7.82 1/8
    89mph
    10.22 1000'
    12.22@111mph


    383 w/th400
    Drag radials M/T
    3200#
    3.73 gear
    255/60 x 15
    Any ideas??

          Sorry, no good (close) video.. its ladder bar/ coil over. Cheap s/w shocks with QA springs.

                Given a best of 1.80 60' I would think there's a couple 10th waiting to be found in your launch; try CalTracs if you are still running leaf springs, maybe trying different front and/or rear shock settings, maybe some weight jacking if possible, playing with tire pressure, etc. your MPH look good what stands out to me is your 60 foot times. I don't think NOS will help the launch but you would clearly add MPH.

                  shocks dont work well with ladder bars.... what hole is the front of the ladder bar in

                    Front end moves family freely. Seems to have descent transfer from what I've been told. Ladder bar hole is second from top of four holes..

                      What front shocks.. are they set loose.... with the 1.80 is it spinning
                      or is it the lack of low end power

                        how much tire spin? CC recently had a article about drag supension set up's Its in the may issues
                        used to be purplecobra, now just myself. I still drive a mustang!!!!!

                          That is the big question? Is it hooking with the current combination? What is the full motor, trans, converter and gear specs?

                            Just want to also say nice looking truck, and light weight for the size.

                            I should also say what is the in depth motor and converter details? You willing to do any motor work or change the converter?

                            Nitrous would be the quick answer. But I am an all motor guy myself.

                            Don't get that truck too fast! We are both going for the quick 32! ;)

                              Im running a 52 f1 here is my combo Camaro front clip set with 5" of upward travel.. rear is s10 leafs with home made copies of cal trac. with 3 1/4" downward travel and 5" upward 275x60x15 DR.. I leave 11gals. of gas in the rear mounted tank have a 3.89 gear with a 700r4 low gear is 3.06... truck # is 3870 with driver best 60' is 1.50 but is in the hi 1.5s to low 1.6s all the time ... my truck with a 111 mph and few year back ran 11.90s
