  • Dodged a bullet today..

My son's Firebird needed an alternator replaced last week, so I grabbed the brand new 140A Powermaster that I was going to use on the Camaro and put in on...

This afternoon, I had to pull it off due to it not charging

It only lasted about 100 miles, so I'm glad it failed on my son's car, and not mine!

    Now to get a replacement...

DW2015 - Finished in 1 piece (for once!)

Maybe you should convert back to what it was a 6 volt generator or did it have crank start!!!!

I am running a GM CS130 alternator. Works awesome and came on tons of GM cars so it should be readily available on the road.

My Powermaster in question is a GM 10SI, which is as common as dirt... not a problem, though..

better to find out now! There's a surprisingly high number of infant mortalities in the electronics world... not much inside one of those things that can go wrong that you can do anything but replace.
