Now if they would let us have some speed involved I'd jump on it!! I know liability and insurance is involved but 50 Buck's just to drive around maybe 10 or 20 at most, Indy has way more history and it was free! Maybe I'm asking to much. So anyone gonna go for it?
The only reason Indy was free was one of the sponsors (Coker or Edlebrock I think) paid the tab.

Thanks Jesse. I don't pre register, I think it puts a hex on my car leading up to PT. Getting the information is good though.

Not even close to worth it as far as I'm concerned. I really hope this isn't an indicator that Power Tour is trending towards JUST a money making venture.

It probably has nothing to do with Hot Rod... I'm guessing that's the fee the track wants to charge?

I mean, we have two autocross and a drag race day that are free on 3 of the other days.

I only had to tell myself one time. I have no interest in the track. Only tracks I like are straight and a quarter mile long. But he on the other hand loves all that F1 stuff and if it gives us something to look back on and talk about 30 years from now when I'm old and gray then $50 is nothing.

WOw that's crazy!! Good Guys at TMS they let you take a few laps about 50 cars at a time. You can hit the 85 mph toll way out of Circuit of the Americas as fast as you want and the liability is on you though.

I paid it and drove it. It's been a bucket list item for me to drive that track, could have never gotten out there any other time for $50. Their track days are $700. There was a Camaro club in front of me and they would all hold back then nail it to catch back up. We hit the uphill into turn 1 at 70 mph, that was awesome.

The $50 was all COTA, nothing to do with Hot Rod. That track cost $400 million to build and they're not even close to recouping that investment. Not to mention the Austin and Texas governments have been screwing them royally. Austin annexed all of the land around the track after it was built, after COTA paid for the roads and bridges, then came around with their hands out. COTA had to sue the city to get a fair tax assessment. The track was promised $25 million per year from the State of Texas Major Events Trust Fund. They are now trying to renege on that deal.

So that means they have to take advantage of others?? $20 parking for spectators, overpriced concessions that you had to walk by just to get to the vendors. It was the venue I looked the most forward to, and was the biggest disappointment.
