  • Yes there are a few holes in the main chassis tubes. We repaired the rear hole behind the left rear wheel and are ion process on the two front holes that were caused by missing splash panels behind the front wheels. The area behind the side "gills" packed with mud and the multi overlapped foot box side and gill mounting bracket corroded away leaving 3/4" holes in the tube. Weve got new splash panels to install once the welding is completed. Thats about it for tube rot though... Nothing like youd see in England. There is some rust in the rear boot hatch as well that we will fix either by cutting and welding or with a rust free boot lid that fits... We havnt tried fitting the spare yet. You can see almost everything I have mentioned on the blog post under project cars on the BS forum. Weve got some new shocks to install (original Armstrongs!) and it needs tires. Our goal is to get it to a reliable driving status so that we can experience the car a bit, then decide to sell it or keep it. We are looking for offers to see how hard a decision that will be!
