It's funny how when some people do something that at the time is completely within the rules they are bashed for doing so, but we celebrate people who go deliberately outside of the rules (Smokey Yunick, Junior Johnson, etc).

I figure if the rules don't say that you can't do it, go for it!  They guy trying to win doesn't care what happens to the rest of the class - otherwise it would be a different winner each week so that everyone could get their little trophy & be happy

How was this car any different to what Pro Mod eventually became?  IHRA's knee-jerk rules changes in Pro Mod during the 1990's only delayed the inevitable.
