    Re: squirrel's 61 Belair

the more I stare at this thing, the more I appreciate the styling.....

I welded up another rust hole today, the one at the front of the pass side rocker.

I also found a neat patch panel, new old replacement stock, on epay, for the driver side above and behind the wheel. Kind of pricy, probably not worth the trouble, but it's neat to see old parts are still out there.

I've been letting this car sit for a long time....it needs to find a new owner. But I did finally get some primer on it, so at least it's not bare metal any more.

Yes, I'm a CarJunkie... How many times would YOU rebuild the same engine before getting a crate motor?

I'm sadder about the crew cab that went - but I think it's cool for you to move it on down the road if you don't think you'll get around to fixing it up like so many folks do. I dig the car, so I'd love to see it back on the road. The thing that makes me sad is that if you did have time for it, it would probably stand a much better chance of actually getting back on the road. I hope the folks that buy it finish it up and drive around in it!

I really gave it some thought but decided that I wouldn't for the same reasons that you are selling it. I move to slow. We'll be flying in jetson cars before I would finish it.

The 427 is all paid for already. My wife is a bit ansy about money right now, since she's one of the lucky DOD workers who's getting furloughed.

That sucks. Tell Mrs. Squirrel we're all pulling for her.

I called EPA on Friday to get some info from one of my buddies and they were all off on a "sequester day". Guess that's better than a furlough, though. Still, it's a big facility to be shut down for a day.
