You went from 16s to 16.5? I thought it was easier to get 16s?Comment

it is... ishOriginally posted by Russell View PostYou went from 16s to 16.5? I thought it was easier to get 16s?
gumbo mudders, and others (tsl) make a 16.5 tire that costs less than the similar 16" tire.... did I mention I'm going a lot larger with this truck? not this year, maybe not next year - but 44s are in its future (at minimum)... and I did almost pull the trigger on some 54s. To put it mildly, I'm done with my rigs sinking in the snow
Eventually the H3 will be fully independent, rock-crawling suspension...
As I've said about a billion times. Stock is far too reliable.Last edited by SuperBuickGuy; April 11, 2013, 01:56 PM.Doing it all wrong since 1966Comment

Sounds good to me, I just normally hoard wheels, guess I should try selling some, but you never know when you will need them.Comment

soooo.... the turbo has been developing less and less boost (now at 1 psi max) - so I finally called Turbo City and asked how much to replace my turbo.... short of the conversation, I'm doubling the amount of money I have in this turbo (now I have 700 in it).... according to them, I'll see 10 psi when I'm done
that's twice as much boost as before it really started sucking
to remind
this is on the truck

this will be installed

now, if I've been living right (haha), I'll be able to replace it on the truck without removing the turbo from the exhaust.....(that sound you hear is me laughing in my insanity)Last edited by SuperBuickGuy; April 23, 2013, 04:03 PM.Doing it all wrong since 1966Comment

purdy

so, just one bolt.... but I can't get it without the housing turning.... of course, there's also the one bolt I broke getting it apart (note the grinding on the oil inlet?

so I get to take it out... before I do that, I'll let it soak with PB blaster then hit it with acetone/atf... hope I don't have to heat it with a torch.
I never did mention this... the truck had ~160k on it when I bought it... and had a new motor put in it at 120k...Doing it all wrong since 1966Comment

so what is that about a 25% increase in Air? How do you increase the fuel?Comment

take the top off the injector pump, turn the cute little allen screw 1/4 of a turn, put the pump back together.... and hope you got the shut off (hmm, can't remember name) fingers correct on the pin.... the downside of not getting the fingers correct is the motor will run away on you.... kind of ends in a big explosion, sort of a downer IMOOriginally posted by Russell View Postso what is that about a 25% increase in Air? ugh, that's some work
it's out

apart

going back together

even going together clean

in the truck (what a pain, I had to cut the exhaust pipe to put it in)

now to connect it all back up.... it'll look like this when it's done

I swear I should sell it now before it blows up again.... however, the only thing left to blow up is the motor - yeahDoing it all wrong since 1966Comment

Do you sleep or work? It would take me 10 years to do what you get done in a month. Keep up the good work while making the rest of us look like slugs!
