    some minor body work

I have to keep reminding myself "this is a 4x4, perfect is not the right choice"... although, crappy, amatuer are also both not choices.

50/50 or better would be my goal.

(looks good from 50ft at 50mph)

You'll be out on a trail, hit some slippery mud on a hill and slide the ass end out into a tree...all the extra work will be moot. 50/50 might be something to shoot for.

    still love this truck.

it's just going to get scrached and dented any way as long as it's a solid color it should be good enough

was walking by it this morning, noticed I missed a small dent just around the corner from the one I fixed.....

about repairs... while I'm certainly not against boonie bashing, I'm also against driving hoopties if I can avoid it.

Lol, you slay me...hoopty...man, if you consider that rig a hoopty in current state...I hate to think of what you woulda called my first truck...a 74 GMC 3/4 ton with a maroon bed, yellow cab and a blue dog house and a tan interior...6cyl 4spd, 4:56 rear....twas a fine machine...12 dollars woth of dutch boy spray bomb fixed the color issue...but not the cancer...

I spent hours going over every panel on my truck , I sprayed on three coats of primer , spent hours sanding it with a long board and all and still missed a few low spots that were noticable after the colour was sprayed . Long story short don't drive yourself crazy trying to get it perfect . Thats what the pros are for ! .

I've had the truck that people literally would get out of the way when they saw it behind them - probably figuring it didn't have brakes or insurance... however, I'm kinder, gentler, and would rather not attract the attention that truck seemed to attract from law enforcement.

That said, I'll make it as nice as possible - but it's still got slobber on the dashboard from my wife's bloodhound, so one wouldn't consider it "too" nice

this seems so pedestrian, but I've yet to see instructions - so here it goes
Changing to the 88 up steering wheel on an older Chevrolet truck

the old wheel, larger, thinner grips

take apart - 3 screws - try not to do this late at night as horn honking will be randomly occurring

    to this point

take piece of wire and shrink wrap to horn button. You can also buy a piece or get it from the donor vehicle. I got this from the swap meet for $5.00 and it didn't come with it. You also can buy it for 17.95 from LMC truck.....

    install steering wheel

    comparison between two steering wheels

really, it's that easy - shrink wrap a piece of wire to the horn button and thread through the hole then connect to the horn button on the steering wheel....
