update - tomorrow the diff is supposed to arrive. g-force was told to send the diff next day air; they didn't. Ah well, I suppose their reputation with me can't get worse (I honestly don't expect the diff to work right), so they probably just said screw it. What is strange, is the additional cost of the rental car, that they are paying for, is higher then cost next day air...Doing it all wrong since 1966Comment

the original repair - the broke diff - was covered under the GM Certified Used Car warranty. Also, because the Dealership screwed up on the transmission, they have to also pay for the rental. Seriously, if I thought I could have collected, I would have told them to pay me the $30 a day and driven my own car.
What's kind of funny in all of this - I told them to pay me, and I'd fix the differential. They demanded to fix it themselves, so sticking it to them has this delicious irony.Doing it all wrong since 1966Comment

sigh, yeah, I'd like to get my car back... it'd reduce marital strife too, since it was my wife who argued for selling the H3 and buying the GTO...Last edited by SuperBuickGuy; May 23, 2012, 01:31 PM.Doing it all wrong since 1966Comment

I'm done.... tomorrow I'm going to have the car towed from the dealership, fix it myself, and sue them into dust. 5 1/2 months is too long for a simple rear gear fix.Doing it all wrong since 1966Comment

they lied to me today - that was the straw. "oh it's in", "really, when is the car going to be on the lift", "oh wait, it's not here yet."
add to that, they didn't know the diff was wrong because they waited 3 days to even put it on the car - "there were cars on the lift"... yeah, right.
Patience? no, I know how long and tiring a court battle is. That said, I'll have the car driving by Wednesday.Doing it all wrong since 1966Comment

GTO is now fixed. I told them that no matter the condition, I was picking it up at 1 pm. Amazingly, it was done.... funny, when I talked to them at 7:45 am "there is no way it will be done before the weekend." It's possible that the words "it's okay, I'll simply charge you for whatever it costs to fix the car" provided motivation.
boom

it's done. it shifts into 3rd without forcing it, and the rear diff doesn't howl. frankly, I'm glad I didn't have to pursue a legal avenue.Doing it all wrong since 1966Comment
