Ideally, I like to have the tread width be the same as the rim width. On lower profile tires, the look gets exaggerated, quick!

I didn't even like the look of the stock Corvette tire/wheel combo in the 70's, when they used an 8" rim with a relatively narrow tire. The only reason it worked, however, was because of the 70 aspect ratio.
'69 - '72 8" rim 205/70/15
'73 - '77 8" rim 215/70/15
Using that same Corvette chart I was looking at, the factory put a 315 on an 11" wheel ('96 GS coupe), and only recommended the size vary by one size larger or smaller.

The lower the profile of the tire (aspect ratio) the more critical tire size becomes.

going to try a test panel tonite or tomorrow want to spray new base paint on half old panel I cut out then clear all and see if it will match if so it will make life a lot easier

worked on the truck today didn't like the sides of the bed from the first time painting it so after 13 years I got around to fix it plus welded a stake pocket in the middle of the side looks like it needed one
