Yea - it seems everybody knew somebody that had a car just like yours and it was "the fastest in the valley" or some such, complete with a 3/4 race cam, headers and a giant holleyrochestercarter-jet carburetor and dual points...
Nice camaro - ouch Bill! There's always something new to learn.Comment

Who knows, maybe the guy was right, maybe the nicest Camaro you can have is a Mustang?Originally posted by CDMBill View PostSecond after Chicago Heights had to be pulling into one of the host hotels at DW '07 and some guy in a #3 shirt hanging out of the fourth floor window yells, "nice Camaro!".

I thank all of those who shared their memories here. A buddy and I participated in 2005-2006, and really did have a lot of fun. Racing that many days in a row, with hardly any line, that alone made my week. I again lived some of those memories I have, that fun, due to your stories and how they were told, and felt like I was on the trip again. Great feeling. Many thanks guys.Comment

Though I had some good laughs last year with Bill and Floyd among others, my most memorable moment was pulling over in the pouring rain and helping flip Ricks trailer back over and pick up the tools/ parts while they were getting the wagon turned around in the right direction. Then one of his guys came over and told us to bail real quick when the 'rollers' got there, so we wouldn't have to be involved with that mess. With that done and me coming down from the adrenaline, I started getting really spooked out and began driving even more cautiously with my big balloon tires. Every little hydroplane freaked me out for awhile. On the street I normally drive with just my lap belts on but at that point, I donned the whole 5 point.Rich
