Here's a strange twist to this whole thread. When I blew my Firebird tire I had just left a place called The Boat Brokers. I noticed they had started selling classic cars so for kicks I ran the bird over to see what they'd offer. While I was there I talked to a guy named Chris. I mentioned the tires were on borrowed time and he said yes, they look like nay-pops. He shot me a price on the car that was lower than I'd take, which I expected, so we talked for a few and I split. I got about three blocks when that tire blew.
The day I rolled the truck I stopped to get gas just before I hit the highway. There was Chris getting gas too. We shot the shit for a few and then he split. After I was done getting gas I had just hit the highway and there's Chris on the soft shoulder with a blown tire. I stopped and asked if he needed any help, he said he had it under control, so I headed out again. 15/20 minutes later I rolled the truck. Just seems a little bazaar to me so I thought I'd throw it in.Comment

Here's where it really gets twisted. The day I rolled the truck I was on another forum talking about Explorers rolling. I was trying to explain to a guy why I couldn't help him with a GTO he was interested in. The car was to far away and I'd feel horrible if I lost his GTO while pulling it back to my house to store. This was just before I left the house.Last edited by Guest; May 28, 2013, 09:30 PM.Comment

My Caprice has a salvage title cause I bought it at the junkyard. But, I wouldn't buy a late model car with a salvage title. It would be either totalled in an accident or totalled from theft. Both are bad news.BS'er formally known as Rebeldryver

The biggest issue with salvaged titles in CA is they require smog testing every year iirc. At least if it's newer than 1976 (or what ever year they have settled on now?)Escaped on a technicality.Comment

That's what I'm sayin...Originally posted by Deaf Bob View PostYounger than my youngest! ..
So far:
$225 to get flipped back over and towed to the next exit (no choice, truck was blocking highway and cops insisted)
$100 for used tires (just to play it safe
)
$20 for bondo
Located a fender for $20 and back side glass for $55.
Still need a drivers window.Comment

If I were going to keep it I would put some Michelins on it. Only tire that get a human check on 100% of what they produce. Which I think is that they have someone slide there hand over the whole tire checking for irregularities.Originally posted by NightShifter View PostMy next question is do you guys believe in the three strikes law?
I bought her with a salvage title, this is strike two. So far everyone's walked away.....lol!Previously HoosierL98GTAComment
