    Views Near You

Don't know if this subject will take off or not, it's worth a try.

This past Sunday, the last day of Duty Week - no beer, don't leave town - I got bored shitless and told Unit, "I'm going for a ride in Red." To my delight, she said, "I wanna go."

So, there we go, up to the top of the hill past the Mountain View Inn. A road up a hill to a dead end, a turnaround.

The I-75 corridor is sort of right-center, looking toward Chattanooga.

Any good scenes near you, NOT road trip photos...?

      I'll Play- I have LOT's of pics within a 70 radius

Here is one from Cumberland Falls in the fall

The sunset is real, the falls are 125 ft wide i think it's a 50-60 ft drop. On a clear night with a full moon you can see a "moonbow".

I might as well include these because they were taken a few hundred yards downstream from the falls.

that is a good view. hilltops.

I am lost without horizon. This city street I live on defying logic of anything geologically normal..
I only need a few hundred feet in any direction to see I am indeed on a hill. It is getting dark, but will grab some photos sometime.

in fact the water tower can be seen right outside, not much looking up.. tall hill here.. and its a city.

I just climbed this one, for the several thousandth time in the little scoob. there is not a single once I am not echoing half the downtown and buildings on either side at nothing less than full throttle.
To bail myself out of Harley down syndrome (noise without necessity). since installing the intake damper, there is no echo at 3k rpm and under.. sounds like a normal car for the most part.

I am digging up photo, be right back

          1930

          today

from the top. in photo previous to this one, we are looking way down to its roof top of the building on the right. Steep climb.

          from the bottom.

Rumors of my demise by rollover have been greatly exaggerated.

I have dozens of pictures of my little chunk of paradise.

                Ely rush hour.

                Building mountains.

Looking out the front door at the dog laying in the shade.

Mission Impossible, get the ball while the sprinkers are on (just repaired).

The next pictures were all taken at work in a two week span.

                Escaped on a technicality.

all of these pictures were taken under or on Green mountain (they sure thought long and hard for that name, huh?)

Near Topanga State Beach. Sun is setting in smoke from fires a few years ago. Yes, that is a Baywatch tower back there.

Some times you get this view surfing in SoCal.

Sunrise on the PCH looking towards the Santa Monica pier.

The Chinese Theater about once a week. Movie premiere.

Pt Vincente Lighthouse looking towards Catalina Island.

The buildings that Hughes built the Spruce Goose in Culver City.

BearPhoto's Trans Am in front of the Hollywood sign.

Looking over Lake Hollywood towards Hollywood. This is part of LA's water supply, so no boating or swimming.

Inside LA's train station. They film here a ton because it hasn't changed in 60 years.

My car on the set of the TV show Jericho. That's a British Centurian tank disguised as an Abrams.

These are some old pics I took around town.

Isky's old building in Culver City. They moved to Gardena.

Engle Cams old building in Santa Monica. This is a dead end street that has a bunch of production companies on it.

                          Bridge over the Venice canals.

This street over the canals is where they filmed the car chase in "Cobra".

Griffith Observatory. Same view as in James Dean movie "Rebel Without a Cause".

Infield of Irwindale's roundy track. That's Motley Crue filming that Kia commercial. We missed all the half naked chics that were there the day before.
