I remember in a recent HR or CC in a feature on a GM fullsize somebody had recreated big steel wheels in aluminum. So there's another option that isn't at all what you asked for. But I thought it was cool because I dig the big steelies too. That white Biscayne gives me goosebumps.1967 Chevelle 300 2 Door Post. I think 12in brakes are all you're going to be able to fit under a 15in wheel, if you use the BR5/BR3 bearing combo common to most GM fullsize of that era the 12x1.25in 71-76 B-body and 73-87 C10 are a common option but will push your bolt pattern to 5x5in.
Anyway, I'm a fan of Centerline wheels, if you wanted the same style but 17in size some "Eliminators" look reasonable and are on intro pricing:

A slightly more updated look of the same thing is the Matrix:

I'm personally partial to the Meteors:

Here's one I think would give a completely modern flare to the car:

If the corner turning is high on the priority list then wheel weight becomes a factor. If they don't have to be new, just look like it, you might start lurking on Pro-touring.com or other groups doing that stuff as really nice things show up used. Years ago, early 90's I bought a set of Ronal 5 spokes in 17x8 and 17x9 that were take offs from a world challenge car and put them on the 68 Mustang coupe I had at that time, $300 for the set IIRC. Be open to possible changes in bolt pattern. A lot of aftermarket brake set-ups have dual flange hubs and hats as do after market axles and rotors. I say this because it opens up all the sizes made for Vipers and such not to mention the f-word. 15 inch tires, arent that good on grip..cause they are old designs and not that much sold..but if you can get some wide tires under there, especially in the front..where the traction is needed..you can get results nonetheless..cooper has 265x50 and 295x50.I have tried both, and the more width..the better traction..i have also tried different 17 inch tires(275x40) in the front, and the 295x50x15 cooper tires still shines as the best.
That said..i havent tried Nitto or similar tires.Just regular brands over here.Comment

I thought the last version of the "steelies" on the 9C1 cop cars were actually 17" aluminum wheels with hubcaps.... I'd be all over those, were it me.Doing it all wrong since 1966Comment

Nice. But at 17x9 and17x11 they are L365 English pounds each. That's nearly $600 each and shipping from England. Still cheaper than ForgelinesOriginally posted by Blazerteam View PostI have been searchin for cheap 17 inchwheels too..i end up with the cragar nascar wheels when i search on the Summit site. And the widest one is 9 inch.

I wonder how the car would look with these in black.

How do they look? I haven't seen them in person, yet.Originally posted by Scott Liggett View PostJohnny Hunkins has these on his Laguna.
I was going to suggest those, too, btw.
I have been considering them for the Chevelle... there are so few wheels that I can imagine putting on the Chevelle anymore.Comment

Some other choices. Jaguar uses the exact same bolt pattern as Chevy's. BMW's are 1.5 mm off from Chevy's pattern. Easy to modify to fit.Originally posted by CDMBill View PostIf the corner turning is high on the priority list then wheel weight becomes a factor. This is Yannick Sire's '68 Elco canyon killer. Those are 18" BMW wheels. Check out the rest of the pics to see how he set back the dry sumped 700 hp 427 11 inches and look at the shifter in the car.
