At just about 2:30 into the video you see them walk over to the drivers side of the engine, that side plate isn't installed as it's running. Seems like a waste of about $20,000+. I like the look of the turbo engine better, I'd like to hear that at full song.

I missed that totally! You are 100% right. That is proof positive this is a fake out job.

I bet there is a serious discount on the blowers if you buy them without the guts.

Next question....is it possible this thing makes 3400hp? It is a 1700ci engine, which we now know has NO boost going through it. 2hp per ci with no force feeding? I'm thinking not.

Am I wrong?

Factory rated HP of a 24V71 is 1800. Add more boost by spinning the two factory blowers harder by gearing up in the accessory drive, shim the injectors to over-fuel, and add some spray, I'd guess you'd see more than 2000+ but, 3400hp seems tough for me to believe.

Just spinning all the phonie belts, jackshafts and such has to steal a few ponies I would thing.
