Hot Rod Magazine Drag Week 2012 Rules Announced

Hot Rod Magazine recently announced the rules for Drag Week. These rules will stand for a couple of years so prospective competitors can build a car to race and know it will have a home when the project is completed. There are a few tweaks here and there but the big news is the addition [...]

If I had way more time and money than I really do, I'd be tempted to find a vintage Hilborn slant six stack and rework it for EFI, make an air to water intercooler out of an heater core, and blow through it with a 6-71. Then relocate my K-member a foot forward, hack up the front fenders, put some steelies on it, and run the Dart in the Gasser class. :D With six cannister coils sitting on the inner fender instead of a distributor.

But the Dart would be a more natural fit for Street Race. And less likely to have people screaming that it totally doesn't fit the spirit of the rules...

That would look wicked. Though I can't quite picture how slant six hilborn stacks work with a blower, but I don't know that much on what's available for a slant six either.

I don't think it would look at all like anything actually run in the '60s, but would at least look like it could have been done. It would kind of look like a retro version of this:
