It hasn't come anywhere near us though the next one is expected to hit Eastern NC but much further north from us. Good luck to all in the path.

sailing right by.. got some 40s and 50s mph.
      10 inches or so..
these windy storms, the truck clears itself off,underneath..
      I like 'em.

never lost power...altho the eyeball of the winter hurricaneis wheeling real close right now.

we are accustomed to 400psi on the branches and hurricanes.

this little town caught up in a big way over 30yrs..power outages minimal. Trees would have to rip down square miles to lose, like last fall.
I was dodging live wires and trees that day.
      one road to bangor maine..

smack dab in the middle of maine, all forecasts are wrong, we are always colder, hotter, windier, most snow, most ice...
      as if a secret.

      the education is priceless.

I am grateful when I see stuff like this. I moved from NYC back in 1980. I moved to cold frigid Colorado. Last snow followed a 70 degree day. Followed by days in the 50s.
But our snowiest months are march and april. We had 21 inches one day in march about 10 years ago. It was a snow day.

            yep got another one.

I just installed anew hard drive for my big xeon custom pc..
reason to believe the power stabs killed the first one.

the UPS battery expired and I shutdown again today to a power stab, wind howling
            UPS did not work.
I wanted to keep this smooth as can be, and backed up..

            So...

I found my spare truck battery and here I am. Hooked it up to my ups.

power can stay out in 5 minute stabs before gently shutting down, no data loss (it does seconds and minutes all the time, zapping and snapping)

I now stay powered up and right on line.

I had been meaning to try the UPS car battery combo years ago.. figured it was ghetto and did not.
            Just what it needed.

snow totals at 221 am (no sleep for me yet) ..about 12-18 inches from what I can see. Still snowing.

I probably shouldn't say this but...... We got nothin'! However, not too far inland from us they do. Guess it's the tradeoff for hurricanes.

Kind of reminds you of the flightline? It does me. No shade, no wind breaks, no hats allowed, etc........
