i was thinking not too long ago, how an LLV would make a great drag week car. Lots of room, we already know how to swap a turbo LS into an S-10 chassis, it would be easy to build a cage, etc.

These guys did it in miniature. Been quiet for a couple of years. Last I saw they were building a companion mini dragster.

Hate to postal geek out on you, but Dub's photo is of a Grumman Long Life Vehicle (LLV) and the photo above is of an AM General Jeep DJ-5 . . .

Postal vehicles are not all the same.

Those run the iron duke "F" block, The same block as the 84-88 Fiero. And Pontiac 6000. The s-10 iron duke and most of the other front drive cars from g.m. used a different block.
You could drop a Pontiac super duty 4 in one and have an ill handling, crap braking 350 h/p monster. with just a bolt in engine swap.

Well now is the time to grab one, as the USPS is phasing them out of the fleets. I'd think they go really cheap at auctions.

taking "haul'n the mail" to a new level.
