    Well that just sucks. A great writer and performer and by all accounts a great person. It also hits close to home as I'm also 73, a startling reminder of my own mortality. As I say at this point, "Peace to those who love him."

      Lots of other musicians are passing away from this stuff, too.....Ellis Marsalis - scion of the Marsalis family, the great 7 string jazz guitarist Bucky Pizzarelli, singer songwriter Bill Withers. Don't forget them.

        True, and all of them truly great. Part of the story is that we're all getting older but it seems like we're losing a lot of world class musicians.

          Kenny Rogers death made me very very sad also. You know an artist has had an effect on you when you get misty reading about their death..

            Angel From Montgomery was my favorite of his. And nobody does it better than Bonnie Raitt.
