Yeah, it's going to come right through where we are in NJ, just outside of NYC. We left for vacation in PA and are just outside maybe of the hurricane. I brought my generator just in case since we have well water. I'm suspecting I might have to go back to NJ to check things out.

I hope your stuff stays together Tom.
Let's hope Dan Stokes is okay. Might be a while before we know. From the one hurricane I've been through, ... well, the power was off at our house after hurricane Hugo for two weeks.
Living off a generator will sure make you rethink your power consumption.
Block ice last longer than bagged ice.
National Guard did a great job, but curfew SUCKS.
Beagle, if you had a choice between bag or block ice, you were in paradise after any hurricane. Where the heck did you get ice and have a choice between bag or block?
A hurricane is a bad thing. I told my dearly departed dad, all those years ago, "If I had some time off from work, I'd like to go down to the coast and watch that thing come ashore (talking about hurricane Hugo).
I was young and dumb and invincible. And did I say dumb? Or at least ignorant. And I didn't have to go to the shore to see it, Hugo came to us, in the darkest and loudest and most terrifying night ever.
I hope everybody makes it through it all, the Irene thing. Been there, done that. And survived, thank goodness. Lots of hardware gone, but if lives are intact, we can go on.
