Assembly may have been done in the us (better than nothing), but chances are it is not really "made in the usa" (no matter what packaging says, the rules for labeling "made in xxx" are easily manipulated)
it is from 2000 it is made, built here with made here parts..

Assembled in the US with some US made parts probably, those plasma screens were built at a joint venture between Philips (Netherlands) and LG (Korea) in Korea. Still better than 100% foreign, just a lot of people think if it says "made in XXX" that it is 100% made there. There is now a duty/import tariff on the screens when just the screen is brought into the US, HOWEVER the duty/tariff is actually LOWER if the complete TV is imported into the US from China, Korea, etc...... figure out that logic

Face it once upon a time chinese crap was crap, but since all of our Corporations have given them the means and technology to build better products, it's just not that way anymore.....

Put it this way I find that a lot of "Made in China" products are way more reliable/durable than the crappy "Made in the USA" products......

Face it we no longer have the skilled labor in this country to compete with the rest of the world, all Americans want to be is fat cat rich people, or in better words "wannabee" fat cat rich people........

I've never understood why people classify themselves as Republicans when the Republicans do nothing for them and actually hurt them.....But they still support the Republicans because in their minds they are the "Rich" people and they want to be like(associated) them......

Personally I don't care who makes a product, if it does the job then it good enough for me.......Basically a person that pays to much for something just because it is "Made in the USA", is an idiot in my book.......

I save and pinch pennies when and where I can, that way it gives me more money for HotRod parts, if I didn't do that, I would have to charge you more for my Services........

There is this BS thinking that just because it's made in the USA it's worth more.......And that is why our country is sinking.....When you can take the raw materials ship them to China have them processed into products, ship them back to the USA and sell them Cheaper, you know there's a problem....

If we want to get back on top, we need to start competing with the World, or our little fantasy world will be no more..........

I would love to buy American made stuff that was well made and at a market fair price.

TC...I think your China grinder lasted for 20 yrs is because it doesn't get used. I base this opinion on the pic of your primered 2nd Gen Camaro in your signature has NOT advanced an inch since this board was born. Hey, just sayin. LMAO

Groucho I used that Grinder every day for 10 years when I worked as an Auto Tech......It is a 90* air grinder that I put cut off wheels and those abrasive pads for taking gasket material off on, I still have it today and all I do with it is cut metal since I designated it as my cut off grider, sure it might not get as much use today, though I did use it to cut the PCV valve apart when I dissected that one........ Thing is it still works and has been through hell and back........ So to say HR grinders suck is just Chinese hatred talking, because in the real world they last for a long time......

keeping older stuff and making it yourself will always exceed. might be a bumpy mig where there is a skimpy beautiful foriegn tig (I could say twig..).. but you get the idea?
