  • Your top 10 and bottom 5 Rock&Roll tunes

A coworker and I were just talking about this, thought it might be a fun forum topic. Not the most influential or 'best' songs for one reason or another, but the songs you most enjoy (for ANY reason) and bounce back to. BTW, it was hard to only hit 10 but that made it interesting.

There are also songs that I hate so much I can identify them, and change the radio station in my car in milliseconds.

This may tell a bit about yourself; age, attitudes, etc.

My Top 10 (no particular order)
    1. Suicidal Tendencies – Institutionalized
    2. Van Hallen – hot For teacher
    3. Lustra - Scotty doesn’t know(From the movie Euro Trip)
    4. Motley crue – Live wire
    5. Offspring – All I want
    6. Ramones – Blitzkrieg bop
    7. Violent Femmes – Add it up
    8. Winger – 17
    9. Forces of Evil (a.k.a. Reel big fish) – Angry Anthem
    10. Bob Marley – Jammin’

    Bottom 5
    1. Led Zeppelin - Stairway to heaven
    2. Beatles – Strawberry Fields Forever
    3. Led Zeppelin - Immigrant song
    4. John Cougar – jack and Diane
    5. Elton John - Crocodile rock

    I suppose it’s pretty obvious that I’m a GenX’r-goodtime-80’s guy.

Being an old fart my list will be different and I'm darned if I can pull up 10 of each but I'll list a couple:

          Top (in no particular order):
Get Out of Denver - Bob Seger
Soul Sacrifice (opened their Woodstock set) - Carlos Santana & band
Rivera Paradise (or almost anything else he did) - Stevie Ray Vaughn
          What'd I Say - Ray Charles
Rhapsody in Blue - George Gershwin

          Lest Fave:
          Top of the list:
Yummy, Yummy, Yummy, I got Love in my Tummy - 1910 Fruit Gum Company
          Anything by Madonna

There's more but that's what I can think of right now.

Dan, Rivera Paradise is the “coolest” song ever to be recorded
But to me it’s Jazz, not ‘Rock&Roll’ which I had limited my own list to in my mind to keep my head from exploding and keep it down to 10

Holy Crap, after looking at the list of songs above I must be out of the wrong Century! I'm not sure that I really have a top ten list but here goes.

                  MY TOP THREE LIST

                  1. I like maybe 20% of the CW songs
                  2. I like probably 25% of what I consider Rock & Roll, we're talking 60's music here.
                  3. Old Time Rock & Roll - Bob Seger

                  MY BOTTOM 5 LIST

                  1. The Yellow Submarine by the Beatles
                  2. The Yellow Submarine by the Beatles
                  3. The Yellow Submarine by the Beatles
                  4. The Yellow submarine by the Beatles
                  5. The Yellow Submarine by the Beatles

I like "Pride in the Name of Love" and some of the U2 stuff. Not Top 10 material but OK. Some of the Pink Floyd stuff is like that, too. Don't know WHAT David F has against Floyd - but I guess that's why we're not all married to the same woman.

A lot of the stuff you guys have listed has no frame of reference for me - never heard of 'em. But I HAVE heard of Donna the Buffalo and listen to them from time to time. Again, not top 10.

                        Carry on........

this question stumps me every time.

I like roy orbison all the way to dubstep from outer space.
songs so simple some could fall asleep.
songs too complicated to be interesting.
I could have a top 1000 list if I tried.

                              what up with u2?

                              I like some of that.

bottom 5 is the young ladies launched like a self declared diva and also loving the same sex.
                              my bottom 5 no doubt.

                              soul sing this bitch.
