Some other choices. Jaguar uses the exact same bolt pattern as Chevy's.
The Ford era Jags use a 5x108mm pattern like my Lincoln LS vs. the 5x120mm of the BMW/Chevy.
Newstalgia wheel has a visualizer with a 65-66 Impala on it that I was able to get "painted" matte black. Try some stuff out and sorry Braub, I think those Rocket Boosters aren't very good looking on his car.
go to stanceworks.com or bimmerfourms.com or other bmw/wheel websites, you can pick up a used set of 3pc forged wheels for the price of some new cast wheels, and theyre 3 piece so you can change the offset/width etc. and wont have to worry about seeing 12 other sets of them at every show you go to. ill post some up later when i have more time and anything off from a bmw will bolt up to your car
I haven't seen the car in person yet either since the change.
...and he also went with what appears to be a 50 series tire like I would. Although the 45 series is starting to become acceptable in appearance to me.
Steel Rally's or some Cragar SS.... ( Even if you have to be Pure ass Gay.... in 17's ).... both are a correct fit for your car.... other stuff looks like you want it to be something it isn't .... like a Viper or Corvette.....it's not one of those... it's a Freaking Impala..... ( and many of us dig it because it's NOT a Gay ass Viper )....
end of rant ..... I'm a freaking old man what other advice would I give?'
I agree with Turk.
My points would be, 15''tires are designed as well as 17 or 20's, they are just smaller in diameter , they didnt quit engineering them .Goodyear makes a bigger bluestreak tire still, like on early Cobra's or replicas.
NASCAR ,which everyone says they dont care about uses 15'' still, and have plenty of brakes and plenty of handling.
Just because a car is black doesnt mean the wheels need to be, to be era correct those wheels was white back in 65 anyway.
Please dont put modern Cup wheels on a vintage car, they are way overused and Vintage Nascar didnt use those type wheels until in the 70's .
Jerry, with respect, they have stopped engineering actual performance tires for 15" wheels. You can still get the technology from 5 years ago, but the new offerings from all of the companies in the performance radial stuff don't even include 15" sizes. I get where you are going with NASCAR, but they have a dedicated engineering team on those tires alone (like in drag racing).
Yes, you can buy "performance" tires for 15" wheels, but if the guy is really serious about getting the thing to turn (like I am with Buford) 15" wheels are not a truly viable option. With the Caprice, I am replacing everything I can under the car. Bigger bars, new springs, shocks, upper and lower control arms out back, steel bushings up front, etc. All of that goes for naught if the tires under the car are sub par. 17" wheels are not circus stuff, they are where the true performance tire market is heading (as well as bigger stuff).
I am not making that up, it has come from engineers at two of the biggest tire companies in the world.
That's my side of the coin...the opposite of yours.
Oh, and as a reminder, Keith Turk OWNS AND RIDES A BMW MOTORCYCLE (AS HE WOULD SAY)....HELLO???

I guess I can understand that 15'' performance tires isnt really being engineered, I guess one really never thinks to much of that. I realize the market has gone 17 and bigger. Mostly I guess one would need to know exactly what Scotts real useage for the car would be, autocross, just carving corners on track day?
The NASCAR reference is mostly about brake size being able to haul the car down from speed, although the use different brake packages from track to track, those short track brake packages would be great on the street once warmed up.
Modern Cup front frame clips would be a easy upgrade on Scotts Impala, and he would be able to go to 5''bc on the rear also, maybe even a rear clip upgrade.
According to his useage he might be able to use tires from these guys
Really not trying to change someones mind ,but just throwing out ideas.
I always like the thought of looking like I am going to a gunfight carrying a knife
but really packing a fully loaded automatic.
Good luck on Buford, I like the look of that car.
