    One of the guys on our Engine Masters Challenge team who calculates our runner lengths and header dimensions, was a PT Boat engine maintenance guy for the Navy (also a Pipefitter). He shared some stories about how they made changes to the exhaust and picked up 10+ mph with the boats. The guys maintaining them did everything they could to get the speed up as high as possible. Lots of gains could be had by optimizing the exhaust on those Packard boat engines, from what he says.

          There are 2 in Portland/Vancouver...restored one in video above, and other is either being restored or parts.. They are owned by a group interested in preserving them.. There was a write-up in the paper, how they were "rushing" to finish the first one as one of the former crewmen was in poor health.. Alot of the wood needed replacing..
