Has anyone used SEM Hot Rod Black paint?

I am considering using SEM Hot Rod Black paint on a budget project. I am new at paint and body work so I am looking for any helpfull advice. I am not looking for a show car by any means just something that looks repectfull. can this paint be applied over a epoxy primer? Also what settings should I use on the regulator? I will be using a cheapo hvlp gun. Any advice will be greatly appreciated, even if it seems obvious to you I am open to any usefull information.

    Thank you in advance!

    uhh....read the directions?

The paint is a 2k paint, that means it's a urethane. It should work ok over epoxy primer, or urethane primers.

If you don't understand other stuff in the instructions, ask away! but it does list the air pressure to shoot it

      the way I learned it..
one stage paint is nice to the epoxy. It is not the traditional..of course, that means not as durable.

the two part urethane route needs special attention all the way through every layer. the epoxy stuff is not nice there.

I'd go epoxy prime, and that hot rod paint for an attempt at a win.

I've read John Deer Blitz Black is also another good alternative that gives the same satin black color. I believe it is also cheaper than SEM. I'm looking to paint a car cheap (myself) for a budget project.

I'm too lazy to find the picture, but I used it to paint the short bed Chevrolet truck that was the trade for my current pickup. There was every kind of paint on it and no paint. I'm a hack, still it went on, it didn't fall off, dries quickly and it's tough stuff.

I just picked up a gallon of semi-gloss black from Tractor Supply. On sale for about $25. I've used their line of tractor, truck and implement paints to good effect.
