That reminds of the huge internet controversy about an airplane on a magic treadmill that could match the speed of the wheels no matter how fast the plane moved. The question was, would the plane take off or just sit there? I had Air Force people get it wrong, and it was a huge argument spanning all sorts of forums. What do you think would happen with the plane? Take off or just sit there?

Have you seen the 'Canadian high-speed chase' where both cars are spinning like crazy, but remain stationary because they are on ice??
That's what you have here.
Airplanes create lift to fly. They do that by generating speed relative to the air mass, not wheel speed.
The airplane sits on the treadmill and spins it's wheels.

I think it might be the concept of "Direct observation creates a result".... The observation has an effect on what is observered only in the conscienceness contained within the mind of the observer. Reference effect.

A particles Spin, Mass, and Vector can only be known by observing it - So - does the act of doin the observation 'fix' the particle into that state?.... If you don't do the observation, then you can only say that the particle 'may' have 'this' mass, or 'may' spin in 'this' direction, it 'may' also be traveling in a 'different' derection/vector. ya don't know 'cause ya didn't look.....therefore the cat may have been alive - or- it may not have been alive.... it was in an indeterminate state. ( which i feel needs to be determined in a court of law )

Around that nucleus would be an Electron ( with a negative charge ) whizzing around in circles around the nucleus...... If you can knock that electron loose and send it down a copper wire, you get electricity - but that's another story -

it would be whizzing around as far away as Jeruselum is to us now, and it would be no bigger than a dime.

so how "Solid" is an atom? seems like an atom is made of alot of nothingness.... what's between the electron and the nucleus? anythin? ether? fluff? hooey? green cheese?

when you hear a scientist say that "98% of the universe is missing" - well, that's part of what they are talkin' 'bout.
The other part refers to Gravity and how we can only acount for about 96% of all things in the universe with our current theory of cosmology... - but that's another bigger story - we were talking about just the little shit... Like Higgs Boson's - The GOD particle?

Welcome to Quantum physics.... that statement isn't true, only when it's observed does it 'make' noise... or conversely, it's rather arrogant to presume that something happens when there are no witnesses. I wish I could remember the awesome example my physics teacher used to prove that observation changes what is observed...

I know in my world, 2 people observe, but don't agree as to what they observed - but that's another issue; the hardest part of the discussed concept is that observation has an effect on what is observed.
