I have gnawed, yelled, and badgered my way onto the press fleet list for a Focus ST. Can't wait to get bangshifty with that thing. Also, the blue oval brigade has consented to send me a Taurus SHO next month. Keep your eyes peeled for that front page content. I have plan...PLANS I tell you!

Stiney, the Sprite is cute and all, but Bob Ida's Hemi Healey is the way that those wee British cars need to be handled. It looks like it would kill a normal person in 30 or so feet. Ida is not a normal person. He raced it for years.

This is the "not so famed" Rat Patrol Jeep creation that I know nothing about but love

Confession: Forget the Rubicon! Every time I see a cheap pile of old Jeep CJ parts for sale, I think "Rat Patrol . . . ." Great photo!

DUDE! Great idea! Dodge Stratus with Caravan AWD, turbo motor, and the whole Touring car look...or use Astro running gear, a '99 Regal body, and a 383.

          Okay, I don't always think "RAT PATROL" when I see Jeep junk . . . .

I like the way you think.

But I'm thinking when the new EcoBoost Focus ST drivetrains start hitting the insurance yards, they'd be a better pick than the non-turbo SVT Focus (BTW, because of the weather, I drove my old SVT Focus today . . . .)
If it's under the hatch, might as well go for the Flex EcoBoost V6 instead. :D

That'd take care of two of your objections to the EXP, and just leave the ugly.

No power numbers, but this thing is slick.

Considering that poor, abused, homeless Fiero-rossa that Brian wants to torch on the main page, here are some better interpretations of the Fiero kit car.

That Muira ripoff looks pretty good...

The 308/328 and the Muira are the only ones that I think get the proportions, fit and finish right. The Lambo and the GT40 need work.

Still, if Ford were to build a Fiero-sized "Junior GT" using the old Fiero formula (updated with a suitable sporting mill, of course), I say it would sell.

Or maybe something like the simple Chevron GR8 in an affordable, streetable package . . .

Wow, finally a forum where this topic can be safely discussed, lol. All my searches for FWD--RWD conversions only find plenty of nay-sayers. I have a few crazy ideas of my own. I keep seeing De Villes with dead Northstars on Craigslist. I want to cut out the floor pan and drop the body on a Caprice chassis. A real dash with gauges and off I go!

I saw the two Intrepids on dodgeforum that were converted. 318/904, 8-1/4 from a Dakota, and vroom! Excellent videos. My gearhead tenant has a beat LHS. I showed him the Intrepids and warned him his Chrysler would be next when it dies! Cant believe how the steering rack is mounted near the top of the firewall. A V8 trans slips right under.

Anybody have a 80s or 90s Caddy? Is the rack in the way of a RWD trans?

That thing is the wildest hunk of crap I would be happy to hop into! Reminds me of the $100 Volare coupe [318] I bought in '83. While I was getting it going, a friend stopped by and offered me $50 to trade interiors with his Aspen. No problem!

I've heard about RWD LH Chrysler swaps, but haven't seen one. Is it both gens or just '93-'97?

Not sure. Will have to check dodgeforums. I would think they were first generation cars.
