Rent-A-Tire has been in Houston for 10 or so years now. It is an expansion of the Rent-A-Center furniture and appliance stores that have been around forever.Comment

I have bought used.. usually a case of owner frustration. not happy with them.. but they would have to be over half tread, and no oddities...unless a plug or 3.
I have even worked into the t rated and beyond,( tires normally beaten to death).

One of the big local wheel and tire outfits is renting.... I thought it sounded like a horrible idea.
Most of their customers are driving lowriders and donks.... so maybe it works for them.

These businesses are not really renting the tires, the are using the "Rent-to-own" selling scheme (scam?). The one where you pay $10 per week for 2 years for a $100 tire.Comment

When I use to run a radio station, one of the Rent A Centers was my account. You could not believe how many people were renting to own their bling bling wheels and rubber band tires. They also did rent to own on stereo systems for your car. I called on that account twice and then couldn't go back cause it made me sick to see young kids ruining their credit for a goofy looking set of rims and a radio.Nitrous is like that hot chick with crabs. you want to hit it, you're just afraid of the consequences
