I like it..
but 4x4 users may get annoyed.
different gear sets and lockers...strain.
hydraulic just goes with, gets a little more heat and rack/pump sits behind a direct fan.
some things are too damn switching dynamical.
Fluid is just the opposite.
justly so.

The issue I'm seeing with an electric 'column' powersteering is you're still dealing with the high lock-to-lock gearratio in the manual steeringbox, which means you're turning the wheel plenty to take corners.
A better setup imo is an electric hydraulic pomp connected to a power steeringbox. Then you can even have power steering with the engine off if you want.
