Redneck Wood Splitter

Sorry Tardis - I was looking for wood processors, splitters, and home made saw mills over the last couple of years.
This white stuff, is that Poplar? We have a ton of oak and pine here. You don't use the pine in the fireplace unless you don't like your house, and the oak is splintery and knotty as hell. I won't cut a pecan unless it's dead as long as it still makes nuts. Mesquite is pretty hard on saw blades.Flying south, with a flock of bird dogs.

Unicorn design seems to have plenty of flaws, along with the wheel of death....
My used huskee works pretty good, got it for $100 with a bad engine, put a new $165 10hp tecumseh on it with some new hoses, one new wheel/tire, and - it splits pretty much everything I throw at it, horizontal or vertical.
Thankfully it sits just about level behind the JD420 that came with the house we bought in March. There's always something new to learn.

Those were actually around in the mid 70's.. Big thing.. .. During the wood stove boom when gas skyrocketed from $0.45/ gal to $1.00/ gal!Last edited by Deaf Bob; December 4, 2013, 12:30 PM.
