How thick was your concrete for the lift? I'm planning on buying one and think my floor needs to be beefed up?

My floor is 8" and I planned years ahead for a lift location by leaving large "divots" before the pour. I simply researched what several manufacture's recommendations for pads were and went larger than the largest one in the 10,000# category.

Its roughly 15" thick in a 5x5 area under each post. Yeah, I like overkill. Figured it was cheap to do at the time of the pour, expensive to rework later.

Most manufacturers have a size/depth/CONCRETE PSI listing for beefing an existing floor if you look hard enough. Cut out required area, excavate, pour new concrete and go.

I overkilled on the PSI strength of my floor as well. Again, figured it was cheaper to do it once.

I have never felt a warm ocean..only saw it while trucking down florida way. That looks very cozy...and the sun in the west. Never seen that across an ocean either.
We have a northeast flow from the coldest spot in the world right now, greenland area, sucking backwards towards the hurricane stuff we aren't gonna get.

I gotta fulfill the cali road trip someday...

Sunsets over the ocean always worth stopping to watch. That water ain't warm though, 68 is around average...when we were kids we'd stay out 'til we were turning blue anyway. I strongly suggest that trip, drive down the coast (as possible) from Oregon, redwoods, San Francisco, Hwy 1, L.A. and to here. One of the first real drives I took the summer out of high school, cheaping out sleeping on a cot beside the car...

On another subject, and related to today's "Meh-Worthy" news, these new Karmas w/ CA MFG plates continue to be seen around here occasionally. The people driving them are not Chinese. I've never stopped to ask them, what's the story.
