this is my buddy Trey's car true SS with a bbc and a 4 gear was ordered as a race car with a 427 and a stick .He bought it from our buddy who got it new as a grad present, drove it for years on the street then started doing a frame off and gave up ( everything apart striped paint, was dark dark green etc...) Trey built it in 2 weeks for a car show the 427 is gone but it has a healthy 454 now and I really dig the hood.

How do people do that - was he working on it 100 hours a week for those two weeks?

                      Folks like that amaze me.

What a cool deal - imagine being able to order a wagon optioned like that. These day's it seems all the options are in packages - and undoubtedly - that type of package would never be available. Seems you can't even get a manual trans in pickups these days - let alone a wagon.
Is that a bench seat car too? Always cool to see a bench with a curved handle stick shift in front of it.

This Nomad is not a big block car. She came from the factory with a 307. I doubt that a BBC was available as the Nomad (in 1969) was the lowest trim level Chevelle wagon you could buy. It would have come with a bench but I don't remember what is now in the office. Current mill is a healthy 383 SBC. Strangely enough the new owner, Jack Farmer, said that he bought this car because back in the day, he drove a 72 Chevelle long roof with a factory 402 BBC & 4 speed
