Great pictures. I had forgotten all about that show. I was at a Studebaker meet elsewhere in NC or I would probably tried to be there.

Was there any mention of the Corbitt truck factory that used to be in Henderson? Those were some pretty neat trucks. I'm talking about over-the-road haulers here.

Dave Koffel's Packard is one of the coolest drag cars ever!

            Fine '59 -
Good to hear from you! Hope all is well. I'm still using the coozies you gave me. Great cars - gotta love Dave Koffel's Packard. When I was in Michigan, his shop in Walled Lake was where we took our machine work when we were "tired of screwing around" and wanted to "get it done right".

Re: East Coast Drag Racing Hall of Fame Show

I've been fighting with the Camaro, trying to get it to the last Maxton meet of the year (not gonna happen). So I've been bypassing shows, etc.

Not sure what that inline is - maybe an old GMC? The famous Wayne head is a crossflow, but that seems to be a modified stock head. I know it's not a 292/250 - wrong type of valve cover and it has a one piece side cover. Cool motor, in any case.

Re: East Coast Drag Racing Hall of Fame Show

Interesting observation - the two end exhaust ports use the same size tubing (2"?) as the siamesed center two pipes. Seems like the end pipes should be smaller or the center two should be bigger. Maybe the center pipes don't have to be bigger because the two siamesed ports aren't sending a pulse at the same time? Just seems odd.

Fred, cool pics. Bummed I couldn't make it up this year. Good looking jacket you're sporting there in the picture with Big Daddy.
