Too Bad You Can't Save Them All

Went and looked at this baby the other night, 70 Cylcone GT, 4-speed car. Its got a 429 Cobra Jet in it now, original was a 351 car. As much as I would have loved to brought it home like a stray puppy, but you just can't save them all. No way you could ever restore it and come out, cool looking cars though for sure!

Pitiful. Somebody really messed up by not keeping that one in better shape. Probably the "I'm gonna fix that up someday" excuse while it sat outside and rotted away. Pitiful.

      that beaten = that strong.

I would have taken that in as a primary project for sure.
      I heard a 429 just once.. in a very large 60s thunderbird.

almost as legendary as the tugboat 383 sound in a satellite.

'70 -'71 Cyclones are one of the last few muscle cars that still don't get any respect from the muscle car crowd. That's why you can't restore them right and hope to come out ahead money wise, you have to do it for the love of the car. They do have a following and someone will save that one. The only difference between those and my Montegos are the hood and grill, kind of like a Firebird versus a Trans Am.
Just groovin' to my own tune.

Yeap, I think that was there plan, its hard to see in the pictures, but a tree limb fell across the roof and trunk, trunk can be replaced, roof would require a good bit of work, but could be fixed. But after that, they gave up on it.

Agree'd and it sucks! You could sink an easy 20 grand into this car, plus the purchase price, and still only have a 15-20g car.

This isn't the best picture, but my dad had a 72 Torino a few years back, it had a 429 Police Interceptor, very, very nice car. We practically had to give that thing way.

                  Truth!
It's really no different than trying to glue them back on after she has her way.

For the right price, I'd snag that, hammer the dents somewhat out, replace the bare minimum to make it legal, and drive the snot out of it until someone made me an offer I couldn't refuse.

                      Awesome car!

I think you may have been right to pass on this one. It is a shame but your right you cannot save every car.

Stiney, I quite agree! A weekend with a dolly and hammer and some new carpet and a dash pad and its golden. Id be tempted to leave the side pipes in place too! I guess I take on the hard cases as well...and then sometimes give up. My 73 roadrunner is a good example of that..
