  • Rear suspension is back in place, and the rear center section is fixed. The front end is apart, the engine and trans are out.

The engine had a leak around the rear main seal and block. That is fixed as well as a new high flow thermostat with "bleed" holes.

Here is the new coil-over front suspension.

I had to make a small modification to the lower A-arm, but other than that it went together well and will help dial in the ride height.

Arts and crafts time...laying out the design for the door panels with construction paper. Can you guess where the armrest came from?

At this point all the material for the interior has been purchased with the exception of the headliner.

        • The armrests are for a ‘64 Falcon or Galaxie…they seem to fit the style and work really well.

it sucks to take everything apart, but it’s winter here so it’s a good time to address these things…keeps me out of trouble??? Hehe

The front wheels are from Ultra but I don’t think they make them anymore?

The front coil-over is a QA1 set up from Speedway.

Thank you for the kind words. Yes the interior shop is a ways out, but we started on it today.

          • Already getting somewhere with the interior...with help from my Aunt...

Rear panel...I need more practice wrapping and stretching it around the board but not too bad...

The other panels are sewn up, I just need to get the boards dialed in..

            • Panels are in...and the back seat still fits...making a big difference...

I can't believe I marked everything correctly so the lines "line up"!

Thank you! I have had a lot of help along the way...my wife has supervised the build while many friends and family members have pitched in to help....I'm just another tool in the shop....hehe

I told her I was taking a break after this one...but that Galaxie in the background has been off the road for 30+ years...it's calling out to me! Maybe I will pace myself on that one and start another build thread...???

                  • More progress on the interior. The rear package tray, seat and carpet are done. Also swapped out the master cylinder for the front brakes to give them more pressure and softer pedal (it was way too stiff). Working on the front seat next...

A tool languishes if not used regularly. Yes, the Galaxie deserves its own build thread.

Yes, We replaced everything. It was a combination of stables, clips and screws. Luckily, the kits came with all the hardware. I bought it all through Bob's Auto Glass. He was a big help!

Isn't it great when you find a good vendor?

                            • Yes it is...

Speaking of which, when we put the front sheetmetal together, the alignment was pretty bad. It started with the hood and translated to everything else. At the time we had (1) original hood hinge and a new one from a reputable dealer on the other side. Doing some investigating, it appears the rear link pivot hole was over 1/2 out causing a bind. I happen to find the original hinge, but it was in pieces. Once it was fixed, we put it back in and....presto!...everything lined up! Even the other side and grill! It's not perfect, but it is 100% better....

                              Yes - I know, it's filthy....

It's kinda sad, but there are many parts I purchased just to get one that "worked". I went through 4 different cowl seals just to get one.
