It figure it will need a fan shroud. We don't have one, we will have to try to find one at the local yard. Judd was a little bummed that the rears are back ordered. He has to be in CoS on the 23rd of June, so our time is running short to get this thing running and driving.

NICE!! This thing is getting close!
Do you think you'll need a fan shroud...? 460's are a big ole lump to keep cool in summer temps.
Sucks the rear wheels are backordered...but black steelies on the rear for a few weeks ain't the end of the world.
Would be interesting to throw a compression tester in there and see what the cranking compression is with this combo.

Saturday, we mostly worked on details. Wiring the reverse lights, neutral safety switch, line lock and tachometer. I managed to get the transmission dipstick tube wiggled into place and make a gauge mount that attaches to the steering column.

The power steering pump is now cleaned, painted and installed. Wee also bent up a steel fuel line from the pump up near the carb feed line.

    Should work just fine.
made some out of rectangle tube for derby cars. Did not survive the hits.
    this looks stout!

I considered shortening the collectors, but it probably would have made the shifter linkage and cable stuff more difficult, but mostly, seeing that these are about the single most expensive item on this car, Judd would have not been happy if I started chopping on them. haha.

Diggin on the new polished TT2's! Although I'd love to see it on some slots or old cragar SS's that have been cleaned up with a SOS pad. So many GOOD choices for this thing!(and there is nothing wrong with multiple sets...especially if you find something used on a budget)

WAY back in the day when we were fitting mid 70's Torino headers to our Lincoln Mark V, I was able to shorten the collectors as much as possible and by chopping & fitting a universal "header hookup kit", I was able to make the connection to our existing exhaust without crossmember mods.
But doing it your way will definitely give you more options for exhaust routing and less need for complex bends.

They fit great. They are a little tight to the transmission, particularly if you are running a B&M shifter like we are. We are currently modifying the trans crossmember to have humps to clear the exhaust.

Not our car, but this is exactly what we are dealing with.
