I put the dual throttle return springs on yesterday and installed the battery correctly in the box.

I have not set a goal for this car, just "want to see what she'll do" I am thinking that speed is going to be limited by the computer before 140. I think it will be between 125-130. I am hoping to pick up the SC Wed. so that will take most of my free time and $$$

Had a bad skip that started in a rain storm, luckily it only took plugs and wires to fix. Made 3 runs at Maxton, the first time out made a easy shake down of 124.7 mph second time out gave it a WOT the whole way and made my best pass of the day 130.689. The third run I taped / cardboard the grill this time it hit the speed limiter right before the line and lost speed did not have time to pick back up went through the lights at 129.696.

correct me if I am wrong but I think if I can fit a 29" tall tire it should be able to run 139+ before the speed limiter kicks in....

A 28.5 tire is all that you can get under a tbird.Will your car pull that much gear?

I have some tbird 5 lug wheels factory aluminum - if you want them for spares / tire size options at the track, they're yours.

I don't know I like to think it will be.

the stock tire size is 225/60/16 I have been using 26.6" for this tire is that a good number or is there a way to measure the tire? My math says that 5100 rpm 3.08 rear 26.6 tire 131 mph. Use a 28.5 tire same 5100 3.08 = 140. Equivalent gear 5100 rpm 140 mph 26.6 tire = 2.88 gear

Thanks Milner I may have to take you up on that what size are the rims? I do have a set of 4 15" tbird wheels off my new parts car ;D I love parts cars!

We ran 134.268 in a bone stock Mk8 back in 2000 at maxton (Our first trip down there) and got stopped by John Beckett (The Race Director back then) cause we didn't have a roll bar. The car had lots more left,just didn't want to cage it. Built the Underdog RX7 with full cage so we could break 200! Have fun with the Mark and go to the Lincolns of Distinction web sight for more info on changing the rev limiter RPM!

Did you have a stock tune when you ran 134? I went to LoD looked around a little all I saw was get a chip or tuner. Do you know of a cheap / free way to remove the speed limiter, I think I want to leave the rpm limiter alone it was shifting at 6200. Also they say you need a new drive shaft b/c the other is not balanced enough?

Call me crazy but if I have to spend money on a chip, then why not spend a little more and change it to mega squirt?
