Stiney - that's not a simple thing to do with the Edelbrock - the vents are odd shaped holes that would require tubes to be fuel safe epoxied into them - then loop them together with a short piece of hose.... There maybe a marine edelbrock part that does this as that's the reason for the J shaped float vents on holleys - to direct fuel from a stuck needle/seat into the throat of the carb, not the engine compartment - for fire prevention.

Notice the extra tube on this edelbrock marine carb on the back passenger side of the choke horn - I'm betting that's the USCG required fuel vent.

You are right John....... I'd be tempted to remove the carb top and see if I could drill and tap the weirdo vent holes for a brass barb fitting or similar item. The barbs would stick up a fair amount themselves, and tubing could be added to those if still needed.

The best scenario is to keep the "extra" fuel out of the throat itself; on our off-road rails its fairly common to just dump it overboard and keep the engines from blubbering in the whoop-de-doos.

Keep that in mind for your jet boat - run a piece of rubber line from one bowl vent to the other on the standard vent holleys.

Given the easy top removal of the edelbrock - it shouldn't be too hard to epoxy a couple pieces of tubing in those vent holes from underneath, I'd be very afraid of trying to weld anything to that carburetor mystery metal.

Easy enough to check, stick some pieces of tubing on the vents to act as extensions. Effectively raising the height of the vents.

Any chance you know an American named Evan Lewis who operates a Viking themed micro-brewery/resort hotel with his wife over there? He's an old college buddy of mine if you do....
I googled your buddy..found him in one of the most beatiful fjords on the west coast..Are you on facebook Stiney?.

Okey..i checked frequently asked questions at edelbrock.com..found this.

Q: I have a Performer Series carburetor and my engine stalls when I come to a stop or a sharp turn, what will fix this problem?
A: An incorrect float level can cause this to occur. Make sure that the float levels are set properly at 7/16” per the owner’s manual (download here). Excessive fuel pressure can also contribute to this condition.

I will check the fuel pressure first..it should be 6,5psi.

Edelbrocks are very sensitive to float adjustment. 1/16th of an inch too high and fuel will flow out the boosters at idle causing bogging. Throwing the car into a hard turn will make things worse. Remember there are two adjustments on the floats. One is where it closes the the needle/seat. The other is float drop, how far it will hang down away from the needle/seat. Both have to be correct or you will have bogging issues.

Also, fuel pressure cannot be over six pounds or it will over power the floats.

Havent fixed the carb issue yet,but couldnt resist to fix these rust issues..its 15 years since i had to fix rust on this thing..thinkin about it..theres lots of cars that where new 15 years ago, that have been scrapped now..

Inner wheel housing on the pass side..

And these holes have been buggin me for some time..theres a bracing under there, that keep the water trapped..

I have to update here too..i was involved in a accident on Friday(13),and kissed a truck in the ass at 10-20mph or so..it wasnt that bad, cause the bumper didnt hit,and then the frame wasnt bent..so yesterday i helped a buddy to fix his 56 Chevy, and then i headed south some 30 miles..and got all the front end parts from another buddy.

As it stands 3 minutes ago.I have disassembled all the front end parts, and the frame looks great..just some small damage to the radiator support bracket..easy fix..
