I LOVE welding stainless! like butter... WELL DONE - i like the price too ;-)

Great work - and I love the hood hold downs, if that hood comes up now - you're going way way way fast!
There's always something new to learn.

Got the truck running Saturday, the Barry Grant 750 double pumper is for all out racing and doesn't idle very well. My Grandson had a 600 Edelbrock new in the box that he bought 2 or 3 years ago. I put it on today and it idles a lot better and the throttle response is better. I haven't driven it yet, still have a few things to do.

Well, I drove the truck a few weeks ago and the Edelbrock was too lean and it popped, blew out all the water. Took it apart and used #2 Permatex instead of silicone around the water openings between the head and block. Just got it back together and put the 750 double pumper Holley on it. I ran it in the shop a while ago, went to 5500 RPM, 137 KPA, and the AFR range was 11 to 13. It has never seen those kind of RPMs. Now my old laptop that I use in the truck has laid down again, that's where my datalogs are.

Gary, that Demon carb is known to run rich at idle. Since those are typically adjustable metering blocks and main bodies I would start playing with the air bleeds and metering block jets. I leaned out my Idle Feed Restriction on mine and upper the Air Bleed on the Idle circuit 3-4 steps and it cleaned up a TON. Having a Wide Band would help a ton, just a matter of playing with the fuel curve some.

Which Edelbrock? I bought a used electric choke 600, it's too lean. I bought a tuning kit which is just about a must. I did a little tuning with it and it help a lot but I still have more to go. I need to get my front end back together and aligned first.

Hey, GH, would a 'system restore' save that old laptop? Its free if you can still at least fire it up. Saved my dumbass a few times.
Yes, I'm a CarJunkie... How many times would YOU rebuild the same engine before getting a crate motor?

I had a guy work on my laptop about a month ago, he added more heatsink. It seamed to work good, I took it out to the truck yesterday and used for about 15 minutes, shut it off and brought in the house and started it up and it shut down just seconds after turning it on. This morning I turned it on and it went off again, then a bunch of writing came on the screen and down at the bottom a count down started and went to 0, and it came on. Maybe it need a better heat sink???

Sounds Like a bluescreen error with Windows doing an automatic restart. Is this Laptop a Windows XP laptop?

If there is writing and a countdown on the screen it is probably an issue with the operating system. When the countdown is on, look for an option called last know good configuration. This will load the very last settings that worked and allowed the system to come up into Windows. That may get you back on the road at least.

There may also be another option on that screen that says disable automatic restart on windows error. This option will let you see the blue screen error and allow further diagnosis

And people dare to dis my MAC! NEVER had these kind of issues - and I've had MACs since 1985 or so. Just a suggestion......

Apple crap breaks too easily. Hardware that is. I'm a hands on kind of guy and when tech support tells me I don't need to know what an error code means, just to bring it in so we can fix it, it irks me to no end.

I've NEVER had any kind of failure on a MAC in over 25 years of use including the SE30 that I dropped off my desk onto the floor at work. Cracked the case but everything worked perfectly for another couple of years when I was issued a new one. Can't imagine what could have gone wrong for you but it sounds like you got a bad service rep. THAT'S a shame.
