Who's got them and what's your opinion of them??.....

Awesome and I don't know how work was done before them. I have a set of straight ones and a set with a slight fixed angle. I just picked up another set on a black friday sale.

have them and the open end Crafstman ratchety kind. The gearwrench end wrenches are awesome, the ratchety open ends I'm still getting used to.

not a chance in hell I'd buy a whole set..but I am like that with everything tools, spend more for a ratchet, break the cheap socket.

I still use this cheap plastic case to hold sockets, original stuff is mostly gone broken.

I may go for a 10mm stubby ratchet...

5 degree to gain some..sounds good.

I need a set of these.

So I have seen them cheap from Kobalt all the way up to Snap On quality. I'm a shade tree mechanic, what should I be looking for? Would prefer answers from people who use them, thanks!

I tend to abuse my tools and leave them in places that aren't good for longevity. I have cheap ones and I have good ones and IMO they are essentially the same. I've broke one 7/16th one that was five or six years old when the clip holding to together let loose. Other than that, I've thrown out two or three other wrenches due to my mis-caring of them and them rusting solid. Ace Hardware was having a standard set of 5 wrenches or metric set of 5 wrenches for $10, so I picked up a pack of each just because. I have them from 5/16" to 3/4" and from 8mm to 17mm in metric.

Blue Point, i.e. cheapo Snap-On...I have a set each of metric and inch, which both get used all the time. I "snapped-off" the 9/16" and the dealer replaced it with the plea, don't use them for torquing-they're not made for it. Yeah...makes sense. I have a set of straight GearWrenches w/ no reverse switch but the angled Blue Points (w/ reverse) get used a lot more.

I am not especially a fan of Snap-On, but this wrench set was reasonably priced and very good quality.

I'm down to only a 9/16th of the non-reversible type. Word of warning for the non-reversible type, DON'T USE IT ON THE BOLT BEHIND THE POWER STEERING PULLEY! Not that I would know or anything

What's better, fixed offset or a swivel? or straight? I am thinking an offset is a good idea, or perhaps swivel but swivel adds big bucks.

I have a handful of the swivel ones that I have yet to use (from my old man's collection). It all depends on the job you are doing. 95% of the work I do it wouldn't matter if there is a fixed offset or straight, then occasionally one or the other is better.

One of my buddies that wrenches for a living swears by them, he also says the "GearWrench" brand is best to get...... any truth to that??

Anyway I picked up both the Metric and Standard reversible full sets today and was wondering what you guys thought of them...... So far it seems like it was the right thing to do......

I'm thinking about the swivel set. I just need metric, there's almost nothing SAE around my house anymore - $69 for a set of GW swivel ratchet wrenches on Amazon is tempting.

Ya I was looking at the swivels to, but they end at 19mm and a few of the things I know I need them for are bigger than that, and it seems the only way to get bigger than a 19mm is to get the ones without the swivel head.......
