  • Walt Reynolds......Thank you!!!!!!!!!

I have to tell all you Drag Week folks Walt is one of the people I will remember long after Drag Week is over. I broke down outside Ennis without a clue of what I was going to do, but I made a decision to call it quits which was worst than getting teeth pulled. During the day I spoke to Walt at the track and told him how much we missed Chad and the Bangshift coverage( I know Brian was there but it wasn't the same). So I text Chad right away and he tells me Walt would be glad to come and get me and help me back to Tulsa. In the mean time Chad and his wife proceeded to find me parts all the way to a complete tranny, however it just didn't feel right so I asked for Walt's help. Walt loaded up his truck and trailer and proceeded back to get us( a good hour back in the same direction he just came from). We loaded the car and he tells me Your driving, now I only met Walt a few hours earlier and he has complete trust. We talked all the way back to his home north of Dallas, I felt like I had know him for years. At that point he tells me take his truck and Trailer to Tulsa and he will get it on Friday. I offered to pay him, he says no way just put fuel in it. I know I was long winded but to me there is few people these days that go out of their way let alone help someone they don't even know. Thank you Walt and Thank you Chad I owe you guys dearly and won't forget your help and kindness.

Yep, sounds like Walt. We found you a trans about an hour too late. You and your car are my favorite unlimited entry, FYI. I wish you needed an EFI tuner! Good show this year.

Walt is like my second dad. No kidding, he once scolded me for Pauls car not running right, lol. "Get over here and tune his car!"

I finally got a chance to meet Walt briefly - even in a brief conversation - it's no surprise he went out of his way for another competitor.

Joe - we were really sorry to see you out - your car is badazz.

It was very hard to drop out more so because I had finished last year. I really had in my mind that I probably wouldn't do it again during the ride home, however thinking about all the people I met and how Walt helped I realized this is something for me so I'm going to quit being bummed out and regroup for next year. Just a little insight and no more talking about me I believe stuff happens for a reason. Yesterday I unloaded the car and pulled the transmission while doing so I bumped into the front wheel and it made a weird clunk. I started looking at it and the actual hub was broken allowing the seal and race to be loose, don't know what would of happened but I think someone might of been watching over us.

and there you go... I go through life thinking there is no way I'm just that lucky. Some days I *know* I'm being taken care of. I don't question it, I embrace it. Call it whatever you will, but I'd rather see you on a trailer than scattered parts and seeing stars or worse. You have a good way to look at it.

                            Good on Walt!
