  • DD drag radials or slicks?

for DD what's best in your opinion drag radials or slicks and why?

  • #2
I run DR but that's so I don't have to change them for street driving they seem to 60' well... but I have never ran slick so maybe there better as long as if you run 12.20s and down you will make the field

      I run 33 X 12.50 X 15 then switch to 29 X 11.5 X15 slicks. Two reasons. #1 it's what I have, #2 need lower rpm's on the highway.
(Gear Vendors is on the "want/need list")
Drag Week 2012 (wet paint and no transmission but finished) Drag Week 2013 Daily Driver finished in middle of pack (again) Drag Week 2014 #56 of 126 Daily Drivers. (getting closer to the 32)

My 2 cents, on a good tracks my car is about even between DR and slicks. On less than ideal tracks my slicks hook better. So the ever popular got to be there on day 5, tells me limit the number of passes, ie 1 a day. I dont want to take any chances, I bring the slicks. This year looks to bring good tracks. With all good tracks I would bring what works best for you.

I think it was a bump but I can't figure it out - TCFM (too cryptic for me.) Oh well... Bump. This conversation happened last year as well, and wil probably evolve into the "fast" cars running slicks bitching about the DD's tearing up the starting line with DR's. Wonder what will happen this year.

If I trip into some money, I'd like to get a 26x9.5 slick to compare it to a 27" E/T Street.

If I get in I'll be on 27/11.50-15 hoosier quick time's.My car is a stick so a street slick is needed to hook up on 6,000+ rpm launches.I will be there for the first day hoping a spot will open up so I can get in and do DW 2013.
