The half you don't get back is "punk out" money, hence "punk out" date

        30 day warning.....

I can only imagine the number of automatic defibrillators that were used after reading that subject line.

I have a countdown calendar on my office bulletin board, so I was already aware of the ever-lengthening odds against "Plan A" rolling a NHRA-legal tire under its own power before September 5th (which is D-day)

Let's see....in 2011 I broke the engine on August 12th, spent the next week rebuilding it ( and the transmission). I figure I'm good, as long as I don't try to drive the thing anywhere between now and about Sep 5th.

I'm good, engine is sitting in a million pieces, but still plenty of time! lol

Who needs to test, not me, I'll test the engine well on the dyno.. Toss it in, and head for BG to bust some ass!

Reality rared up and bit my ass hard in the last several months. We're spending too much despite concentrated efforts not to on things that were unplanned and a lot more expensive thank I would have thought. I've got about 7 days to make up my mind, or 30, but I think the wise part of me would admit defeat. There's the defiant side that needs dealing with. The car would be ready, my bank account not so much.

I'll use the puss excuse. Monica just started a full time job and yeah, I'm whipped. I won't go without her.

Mrs. Outsider stumped me with the following questions during an episode of that high-concept, intellectually-stimulating, breathtakingly original drama, Street Outlaws:"

"Why is it that racers are always babbling on about 'bustin' . . . @$$' or 'crackin' that @$$' [sic]?

Do they all have some sort of fixation on rear ends?

Or are they just ignorant of polite and civil ways to express themselves? "

Welcome to the DW mania . . . . DW costs at least twice as much as most estimates suggest.

Why not just run that SVT Lighting in DD? Or roll for fun like the cool dudes last year in that bitchin nitroused Gremlin? (Yes, I am a hypocrite that's not taking my own advice)

I agree, but I can tell you that if I was on a show like that, my language would be cleaned up, as I would not want to look like any of those mouth breathers who seem like they can't speak a simple sentence without including a few F bombs.. That show sure does nothing for racing, and the reputation of racers.. BTW, I don't make a point of watching it, don't particularly interest me.
