2022 Event & venue shirts?

We heard that neither Green Mountain nor Laid Back were there this year. I was just wondering if there were any this year or if they were as horrible as last year? We have gotten two different versions. One that they sucked like last years & one that there were none. Although I suspect the good friend that said "no shirts this year" was being sarcastic. Anyone have a picture of one?

Where GM isn't the main sponsor they had Ford, Mopar & GM themed shirts, plus other designs. Picked up 2 shirts. Don't know how to post.

Wanted to buy some tie dye HRPT shirts but none available. The new vendor was not well informed on what people want as far as colors and designs. And only had one sales trailer.

Laid Back was not there due to supply issues. The shirt vendor this year I heard was from Motortrend. Very few selections and everything was black, no kids shirts, tanktops or sweatshirts. A very small suppy. This may have also been due to supply issues. Price was kinda high to 35.00 for a shirt.

Personally, I wonder if they didn't do something to alienate Green Mountain. I saw a similar situation last year with the Goodguys show in Des Moines. Lots of vendors missing & the ones that we knew & ran into at the show & since told us that they jacked their prices so high that they just couldn't make it work. It was like they had to make up for what they lost during covid, but didn't seem to have any consideration for the fact that their vendors lost too. Ebay motors taking over management may have also had something to do with it. I have seen shows over the years that change management & the new folks come in & change a lot of things without having a feel for what the long time vendors & participants want or are used to. Was ebay running the show last year too?

Many participants complain that the vendors aren't giving freebies any more and are upset about that. There are so many more people and the expense of giveaways is so much more. Then when they do give something out people complain that is isn't good enough or they ran out, Guess if I was a vendor I might not want to attend either. This year was so hot I am sure many did not stick around and talk to the vendors. Has everyone thanked the vendors for being there this year?

The last HRPT I got to go on was 2019 and this very discussion had come up then that we were losing vendors. I made an extra effort to tell the vendors that I talked to how much we all appreciated them. I think that year American Powertrain brought all their stuff in a station wagon to cut cost.

It's my understanding that the buy in is quite high for the vendors. PowerTour seems to be less about the hot rodders and more about the opportunity to make money off everyone involved.

True! Power Tour, and I'm sure like most large events is a "pay to play" deal. It would be interesting to see the accounting.
