As outlined in the countdown thread, Earl quit stone cold. Can't say enough about Ken and Linda and how the whole BangShift community looks out for each other. They made this a really nice day, and when Earl went south, stuck with us, got Earl settled down for the night, had dinner, then at our insistence, reluctantly headed on for Ray and Blakes. What great friends you all are!
Well, for the first time in his life:
Tony's Towing did the awful deed with a very nice rollback (Synergy Green and Black), and the driver, Perry, was very professional, and careful with the Chevy. Great guy!
Cheaps coined the 'Trailer King' moniker for Earl......"he's no Queen", she said. I thought it really fits the situation.
Will find a good shop tomorrow (Perry recommended one), and see what gives. I strongly suspect the front or back of the engine....either the distributor failed, or worse, something under the timing chain cover. Sounds really, really out of time. I went back out tonight about 11 to make sure we didn't put the rotor on 180* out....it's keyed, so nope, no simple fix there. Should know by afternoon if we're heading on for Ray's, then CCB, or back home.
More to follow......
