Just trying to give everyone fair warning here.
I am attending the Good Guys show in Springfield, MA this weekend and then going to the GM National in Carlisle, PA next weekend and after I get back from those two events, I'll be getting everything together to send payment into Watkins Glen for our track time
With that being said, if you plan on joining us on the track and haven't contacted me yet, I suggest you do so ASAP so you don't miss out. Since I am going to be busy and not going to be on here much, I suggest you contact me by email because if not, you have a good chance at missing out because it's so close to the deadline
Can't wait to see everyone in about 3 1/2 months. It's going to be here before you know it1999 Power Tour - 3 Stops

Just reading some of the HRPT threads and I know the majority LOVE the trip, I'm seeing a lot of complaints about to long of distances, big traffic jams and not enought site seeing type of stuff
For those of you that don't realize it.. NERR is exactly the same type of trip that, all those people are sking for and it's free!!! We are able to be like that because we are a much smaller group than HRPT, but usually bigger than the Year One trips. Not to mention, if you stay at the recommended hotels, we actually make the effort to make sure all hotel rooms are discounted. We are far from a huge spectacle like HRPT, but it's still a great group of car nuts getting together once a year and cruise and see some real cool sites.
If you haven't ever done so, now is the time to check out our small website and Facebook page1999 Power Tour - 3 Stops

No way!!
Just kidding. what year is it? We accept all years of American cars, but are quite partial to the older stuff as your Lincoln
Eventhough I'm not bringing my classic this year, because I needed a break (of getting single digit MPG's) after taking that 3 years in a row, I love to have the older iron on the run. Bob usually brings his Tri-five and we always have a good mix 60's and 70's stuff too. If you look at last year's pics, you can see we get a decent mix of new and old. The oldest we have had, was the blue 1937 Chevy in that pic.1999 Power Tour - 3 Stops

If time allows (which shouldn't be a problem), we'll be taking a cruise up Mt. Pocono, to Pocono Knob to get a great scenic view of the surrounding Poconos and across to NY and NJ also.
From there we will be stopping for a quick side trip to Bushkill Falls ( http://www.visitbushkillfalls.com/ ) where we'll be able to check up to 8 different waterfalls, for those who don't mind a small walking trip.
From there we will continue onto our final night's hotel in Newburgh, NY. On the way there, if people want they can stop at West Point, but I am also thinking about trying to get a shop tour of Orange County Choppers that day, or early the next morning before everybody heads home.
Those things are some of the biggest differences between NERR and HRPT. With HRPT most people blast down major interstates for hours, just to make it to the day's final destination for a couple of hours. If they decide to check out some of the area's sites, they end up missing most of the trip.
With NERR we take a more leisurely ride along secondary highways and scenic byways, all while taking the time to stop and enjoy different local points of attractions. That is a major part of our trips1999 Power Tour - 3 Stops

Just got contacted by one of our main hotels for the trip and they said only 8 rooms have been booked so far. I already have payment and commitments from many more than that, so don't lose out
We only have our discounted rates for a limited time. If yoyu lose out on that, you can end up paying up to $50 more per night at certain hotels, or you could be like others in the past and not get a room at all, because we do this during peak season in the northeast and hotels fill fast
One hotel only had 10 rooms left in February, but luckily they had a group cancel a few weeks later so it helped out.
Just trying to give everyone a heads up here. Hope to see you all in October1999 Power Tour - 3 Stops

As of today, there are only 3 weeks left to book some of this year's Rod Run hotels at a discounted rate. After that, some of them go up almost $50/night, if they still have rooms available
Anyone that delays any longer, could cost themselves a couple of hundred dollars extra1999 Power Tour - 3 Stops

Final Itinerary for this year's trip
Tuesday, October 2, 2012
There will be a get together at Mt Wachusett www.wachusett.com/ that morning. From there we will cruise west on the Mohawk Trail (Route 2), before heading into New York and taking 87N, where we will be making a lunchtime stop for a visit at the Saratoga Auto museum saratogaautomuseum.org/ . We should be meeting up with more of the group there, before finishing the day at Lake George. If the weather nice that day, we can also take a drive up Prospect Mountain Veterans Memorial Highway before. https://http//en.wikipedia.org/wiki/...morial_Highway
Wednesday, October 3, 2012
We will start the day cruising up Route 28, as we connect onto Route 30, before heading west along Route 3 to finish our day's drive at Alexanderia Bay www.visitalexbay.org/
Thursday, October 4, 2012
Our first stop this day will be at the Antique Boat Museum www.abm.org/. From there the trip will continue along the New York Seaway Trail www.seawaytrail.com/ until we finish our day's drive in Geneva, NY and the Finger Lakes region www.fingerlakes.org/
Friday, October 5, 2012
While this day's drive is the shortest of the whole trip (approx. 150 miles), it is also our highlight day. NERR will be taking a Thunder Road tour (for those that have pre-paid) on the track at Watkins Glen International https://www.theglen.com/Plan-Your-Vi...oad-Tours.aspx. After that we will be driving into Pennsylvania www.paroute6.com
and ending the day at clark's Summit
Saturday, October 6, 2012
This day has a lot of weather dependent stops. Our first stop will be a drive up Pocono Knob, that overlooks the Delaware Water Gap. For those that are interested in a bit of walking, our next stop will be a sidetrip to Bushkill Falls www.visitbushkillfalls.com/. From there NERR will be going to Bear Mountain as we take a cruise up Perkins Memorial Drive before finishing out our final day in Newburgh
If time allows we are going to try to take a tour of a motorcycle museum motorcyclepediamuseum.org/, or maybe even get a shop tour of Orange County Choppers www.orangecountychoppers.com/ while we are in the areaLast edited by Northeast Rod Run; July 16, 2012, 09:14 AM.1999 Power Tour - 3 Stops
