While technically I am a west coast junky (both natively and currently - although those sites are ~3,000 miles apart), I looked into joining you guys for dinner on Thursday but it is about 230 miles out of my way.

I've been working on hotels the last couple nights. Been pretty successful using mostly Hotwire. I've booked everything but Charlotte, we aren't sure yet if we are going to stay in Charlotte Saturday night so holding off booking until we figure that out.
I got a 4* in Dallas on Hotwire for $53 a night plus taxes. It is a Sheraton. Staying there Friday and Saturday, in the DFW Airport North area, 20 miles from the event site

Texarkana BLOWS. I said eff it and just booked two nights in Little Rock. Priceline 3* $50 bid got me Clarion Little Rock Medical Center, 4 miles from the fairgrounds

Wish I had booked Memphis when I looked at hotels before, could have gotten a nice holiday Inn I've stayed at before in Southaven for ~$50, ended up at a less nice looking Holiday Inn in West Memphis on a 3* Priceline $60 bid. 22 miles from the track.

Birmingham, Hotwire 3* $49 Laquinta Inn & Suites Birmingham Homewood, 10 miles from stadium

Chatanooga, our plan for Chatanooga is to roll in, punch the card, and roll out to Deal's Gap and have some fun. This plan resulted in grabbing a hotel in Alcoa, TN, about 30 miles north of the north end of the tail of the dragon. Hotwire 2.5* for $45 is a Quality Inn

Not really worried about getting something in Charlotte, it can support NASCAR and NHRA. Might even wait until last minute to try to priceline a better deal.

Brad you have too much time on your hands, I have never tried those booking deals........... You know I'm old school and settle for what we get. Sounds like you got some good deals. As I recall, the area around the fairgrounds at Little Rock was not very desirable, just sayin that's what I remember...... See you in Texas....... I think we are at a Best Western near Concord Friday night.

It does take a little time but I save enough money to make it worth it. There's a site called betterbidding.com that also helps you take the guess work out of the deal sites. I usually know what I'm going to get before booking it.

My plan is to offer these to BangShifters who would like to honor Ray in this way on next year's Power Tour on a first-come first-served basis. That will eliminate the shipping and handling aspect, but I will consider other options if any of you request delivery before then. I have 100 of the static clings, and 500 of the paper stickers.

Mary and I have purchased these and we do not ask for any reimbursement, however, should you feel like donating any amount for them, I will collect those donations and send them on to the ALS "Team Lightning" to further honor Ray.

We just got the email from Blake and ordered our shirts. Mary suggests we wear them for the LongHaul photo, but I think since Blake and Anna are coming, they should decide that. More people would see them sometime during the week.......
