My Cars: Got 38 cars and one motorcycle...but 10 of them run!

I figured this car might as well have its own thread since we're going to be working on it a lot in coming months.

When CarJunkieTV.co started, the Crusher had not run (no motor) since 2003. We pulled the HT383 GM crate engine out of my '72 Carryall, threw a bigger cam in it, and tossed it into the Crusher for the March Meet. We ended up rigging a lot of junk in the last few midnights before the race, so the installation is not that clean. But it ran and drove. Right up to the point when we needed to get to the staging lanes for the first round, when the trans gave up entirely.

So that was a flop. We had planned to snag the engine and put it into the Crew Cab Chevelle after the March Meet, but now we feel obligated to get the Crusher down the track with the new engine, so we'll fix the trans and get it going before it meets its next combo.

Stay tuned.

Can't wait to see and hear about it. Got any pics in it's current configuration? I picture it pretty much the same as at the Open House, but probably with some slicks and skinnies... probably from the Disco Nova. Read you pulled parts from some of your other cars. What did you pull?

Looking forward to seeing it again.  I loved this car back in the 632" days.

Let's bench race the Crusher Camaro's e.t. and mph. We are trying to get it ready for a couple of upcoming races this weekend and next. I'll spill the combo here. The person who guesses the closest best e.t. wins a t-shirt. Name the e.t. to two decimal places, then name a mph to two decimals, too, since we'll use mph as the tie-breaker. Winner gets a CarJunkieTV.com t-shirt.

Car: '67 Camaro, all steel except the hood, full interior, rollbar
Weight: I have no clue. I weigh 188 pounds now. The car...maybe 3200 with an iron-head small-block and TH400? So maybe 3,400ish? Anyone with a better guess is free to post
Engine: GM HT383 crate engine, stock Vortec heads, 9.1:1 compression, Comp XE282HR (230/236 at 0.050, .544/.555 lift with 1.6 rockers, 110 LDA). Weiand Air Strike intake, Holley 750 carb, 1-inch spacer, cheap 1-3/4-inch headers with 3-inch collectors and 18-inch extensions, no mufflers, MSD e-curve distributor, mechanical water pump
Power: I have not dyno-tested this combo. I'd guess about 425 hp at 5,600 and 475 lb-ft at 4,200
Trans: TH400 with shift kit and 3,500 stall
Rear gears, 4.56s with Detroit Locker
Traction: 30x9.50 Hoosier radial slicks on 15x8s, stock multileaf springs, traction bars, QA1 adjustable shocks

So how quick will it be at Fontana next weekend?

i cheated, but here it is anyway.
60 Foot E.T. : 1.62
1/8 Mile E.T. : 7.37
1/8 Mile Trap Speed : 92.28
1/4 Mile E.T. : 11.67
1/4 Mile Trap Speed : 115
1/4 Mile Trap RPM : 6,286

correction factor for fontana 11.789 @ 114.88
so, knowing this free little program never comes out right, but adding in my correction factor since i've used it before. i'd have to "guess"...............
12.10 @ 109 if it runs right.
or if you factor in new car blues....
14.25 @ 77 mph
